BBF Ad Campaign
The opportunity
The British Basketball Federation faced a significant challenge in selling tickets for the GB vs Greece match at London’s Copper Box Arena. With a need to fill the venue, their goal was not just to boost attendance but to create a vibrant and unforgettable atmosphere for the event. The campaign had to be highly targeted and efficient, ensuring both the lower and upper seating bowls sold out ahead of game day.
What we did
We partnered with the British Basketball Federation to craft a highly targeted digital strategy aimed at ticket buyers in London. Using Meta ads, we identified and engaged basketball enthusiasts and broader sports fans, focusing on audiences most likely to attend. The campaign was rolled out in two phases: the first targeted the lower bowl, combining urgency-driven messaging with compelling visuals of past events to drive conversions. Once sold out, we pivoted to promoting the upper bowl, leveraging the success of the lower section to build excitement and FOMO (fear of missing out) around securing remaining seats.
The outcome
The campaign exceeded expectations, achieving a complete sell-out of the Copper Box Arena for the GB vs Greece game. The phased approach effectively maximised ticket sales, with the lower bowl selling out quickly and momentum carrying into the upper sections. The result was a packed arena, a buzzing atmosphere, and a standout event for British Basketball. This campaign demonstrated the power of targeted digital marketing to drive tangible results, delivering both a commercial success and a memorable experience for fans.
